Conceptual album which tell the life of "Ezekiel" during his own life. Musically ITOIZ continue in this second release the same style as the debut, so , progressive rock, symphonic influences, basque folk music and and mix between rock and acoustic instruments. Not bad album at all, but more "normal" in 1969 than 1980... but anyway a very good work too.

One thing is very clear: the ITOIZ covers were not its main hability at all.... ha ha ... the majority are quite ugly in my opinion. In this occasion we can see this installment # 3 there seems a bugle lying on the floor with a plastic chicken?... Strictly musical ITOIZ changed 180 degrees in all aspects: composition, production, instruments... all. Here all sound more new wave oriented, more power pop and very different than the two first albums. Now there is no sign of progressive rock, psychedelia or hippie philosophy at all. It's a typical 80s new wave record with synth-pop influences and a little touch of basque music. If this is not the best... is unless one of two best ITOIZ albums ever. Drums, guitar, voices, all elements remind us we are already in the 80s decade. I like very much. Simply Pop.

"Espaloian"

Country:  Basque Country
City:  Ondarroa and Mutriku
Label:  Elkar
Format:  CD
Tracks:  9
Time:  36 min.
Genre:  rock

First of all to mention this good artwork, cover and pics inside the album. Secondly to said that fortunately ITOIZ continues in its precedent album musical style and to explore the fields of (then, in 1985) modern pop, new wave and synth-pop. Nothing to do with its beggining completly prog rock, and closer to bands like The Police, for example.

ITOIZ are one of the best-known Basque bands outside their homeland. They have released a number of albums, starting with ITOIZ in 1977, combining Basque folk music with elements of prog rock and jazz. For their debut, their style could be called progressive or symphonic rock, though later albums tend to feature simpler arrangements. "Ambulance" was and is the best "good bye" the band could have done. A great mix of elegant pop, sweet melodies, good lyrics (pure poetry) but also (from time to time) true rock guitars. Sadly the last ITOIZ album and also sad the album was very short, only six tracks in no more than thirty minutes. A little anecdote is the village of Itoiz (Basque Country) was born in 2000 a rock band called "Ambulance" in hommage to this album here.

Double album recorded live mode farewell race of ITOIZ (begun in 1976). Despite the direct sound is impeccable, is a more targeted group of fans and followers. But I repeat the sound quality is very good. For those who do not want the entire discography of the group, here is a good example of the work done for 12 years.
