Year:  1984
Country:  Basque Country
City:   Santurtzi
Label:   Discos Suicidas
Format:  CD , LP
Tracks:  12
Time:  35 min.
Genre:  rock
Style:         New Wave

Debut album of this pionering band in the "Rock Radikal Vasco" movement. They formed in 1978 with much influence of punk, new wave, pub rock and glam rock. In fact, these 4 styles marked his entire career until 1994. The album includes 16 songs. I think this cover is the best of his entire discography, a wonderful Dadà collage with a lot of pics, newspaper clippings, colored fragments, papers, etc.. Fun.

ZARAMA + AHV
Year:  1985
Country:  Basque Country
City:  Santurtzi
Label:  Discos Suicidas
Format:  mini LP
Tracks:  6
Time:  12 min.
Genre:  rock
Style:        New Wave

Rare and very difficult to find mini LP made by the label "Discos Suicidas" in 1985 which add Zarama with AHV ("Altos Hornos Vizcaya"), both punk rock bands from the 80s. It´s curious because is probably the ZARAMA' s most unknown album and it has few tracks very good. The ZARAMA' s singer is exceptional in this recording, very emotive, sincer. I think you can buy it in E-bay or similar sites. I don´t understand why never nobody re-made this recording in CD format...

Label:  Discos Suicidas
Format:  CD , LP
Tracks:  12
Time:  38 min.
Genre:  rock
Style:        Pop         Punk

It's like as a continuation of the first, more Glam, Pub, New Wave and Punk. It has 13 songs sung entirely in Basque as "Nahaste Borraste" (which inspired the name of another Basque side in the same name), "Latsegi da" or "Norbait." Another curiosity is that Zarama first 3 years he played as a youngster bassist Iosu Exposito, founder of Eskorbuto. Again is a must to mention this awesome cover of the album, not coloured or dadaist like the first album, but no doubt special and attractive.

And here the best, most famous and most presstigiós disk Zarama ("junk" in Basque). 11 issues are kept in balance between punk, pub-rock and glam. Needless to say there are three songs that are true anthems of a generation's own "Dena Ongi dabil" ("Everything is fine" in Basque), "Asken Portua" and "Bihotsak sutan." Zarama a group that is uncomfortable is usually "too rock" for the punks and "too punk" by rockers. But honestly this disc came round, the shame that the language barrier barring entry to other countries, how often do you think would have been Zarama career if I had sung in Spanish or English? Possibly very different. We should also mention that participated in the famous compilation "BAT BI Hamar Hiru ...!" with the subject "Euritan" along with groups of the time such as La Polla Records, Kortatu, barricades Hertzainak, RIP Eskorbuto etc..

Format:  CD
Tracks:  12
Genre:  rock
Style:        New Wave

One of the most under-rated ZARAMA's albums and also unfortunately forgotten, little known and unpopular, but not bad at all is this "Bostak Bat". The sound and production was directed towards the classic Rock'n'Roll and have included some power-pop influences, without losing even a few hints of Punk of course.

"Sexalekstrik"
Year:  1991
Label:  Elkar
Format:  CD
Tracks:  10
Time:  40 min.
Genre:  rock
Style:        New Wave

Here the music is more melodic, softer and pop than other releases, but is a power, dynamic and energetyc pop. The sound quality, production and technical level of musicians is one of the best but the best in all ZARAMA discography. There are some rock songs, pop and even a romantic ballad. It is therefore a power pop album, sadly very unknown but a great work no doubt.

Album that came out shortly after the band self disolve likely to fatigue and fatigue (the group was formed in 1977). There is a popular phrase that says: "... Who tuvo retained." Well here is the same, is not his best album, but it is so weak as other groups of similar style. In fact, it closely resembles the "Sexkalextric" urban rock, pop, etc.

Genre:  rock , acoustic
Style:          Pop

Edita "Elkar".

"Live in Barcelona"
Year:  1987
Label:  not
Format:  cassette
Tracks:  20
Time:  80 min.
Genre:  rock
Style:  Glam  Punk

Finding unusual and unofficial recording during a concert in the neighborhood of "9 Barris" of '87 someday. There are all the classic first three albums compiled (the first and best age group) and although the guitar is too thin, the other musicians do pretty well and the sound quality, because in general and may not was produced or mixed studio or anything, because it very acceptable. If any record Basque something "big" (Oihuka, Gor, Elkar, etc..) Gets this recording remastered and with a good cover and a good art-work, then could be a good album. For the rest, they are good songs and charismatic Zarama life.

Country:  Euskadi
Label:  Baga-biga

Format:  CD
Tracks:  5
Time:  15 min.
Genre:  rock
Style:         Pop

Year:  2003
Country:  Basque Country
City:  Santurtzi
Editorial:  Hilargi
Author:  Roberto Moso
Format:  Book
Genre:  biography
Language:  basque ,  spanish

On Saturday I finished this book by Roberto Moso , which was Zarama singer group, of which the truth is that I knew little. The song Iñaki ¨ , ¨ zer URRUN dagoen Kamerun , and certainly more than a song sounds but do not associate it with this band . The name has always been there, but to sing in Basque in my case passed quite unnoticed, without the crazy 80 i caught my very young. Basque I focused on Hertzainak , Kortatu , and any other single song out there . He wore a work ¨ ¨ Extra listen to these groups , because I had to put the songs translate or find the translations , which was more punctual listen to these formations in Basque. Yes I got hooked on Hertzainak , who loved me , and without speaking Euskera I know the meaning of most of his lyrics perfectly :-) But the offer in Castilian of punk-rock at the time was fortunately very attractive , as in my case worrying too much about what was done in Basque, apart from those two groups.         The 80 musically in the Basque Country was a brutal period, emerging a lot of groups with forceful text , which is then classified under the name of Rock Basque Radikal : Fiebre, Eskorbuto , La Polla Records, Kortatu, RIP , Hertzainak , Zarama and a long etcetera. The author was a direct protagonist and this book chronicles his experiences , as it was for him and his group this time , disappointments and satisfactions lived , as were their relationships with other groups, what happened, told in first person. For anyone interested in the subject, an essential book.

BIOGRAPHY:
Zarama, Santurce-band (Basque Country) formed the summer of 1978, are one of the pioneering rock groups in the use of the Basque language for all songs. Punk and Politics. This is the intention with which the group is formed on the patio overlooking a brewing industry, decadent, proletarian and depressing landscape of the area of the port of Bilbao. Looking for a name consistent with such a scenario, and with the help of a small pocket dictionary of Basque are decided by Zarama, ie "junk". Chronic speak three founding members: Roberto singing, guitar and Txus Alonso and José López Oiobarren Putre-the-drums. The beginning, with changes in training and consistent activity, especially in advertising on a group that had not really begun to function, have the great landmark debut in 1978 in a contest held at the disco Jai Alai organized by Eibar Popular Radio. For that occasion, Zarama has in its ranks with Alonso and Txus Nekane guitars, Juan Pablo on drums (recruited urgently given the limited ease of Putre, which will times since then band manager), and the Foundling Iosu low (Eskorbuto). ZARAMA is by no means a static band musically, and evolved into many styles since its inception more punk to hard rock, power pop, pub rock, glam-rock, etc..
