TOTAL CHAOS

"World of insanity"
Year:  2015
Country:  US
City:  Los Angeles
Label:  SOS Chaos
Format:  CD , LP
Tracks:  13
Time:  30 min.
Genre:  rock
Style:        Punk        Hardcore

Here go the newest TOTAL CHAOS album at date and the first released, distributed and promoted by the own band itself under the name of "SOS Chaos Records". This is already its 11th studio album since its beggining in 1988. Very few surprises about lyrical themes which continue to tell us about nihilism, chaos,  disorder and some kind of perhaps too much repetead for too much bands... but strictly musical TOTAL CHAOS seem to keep its good sound, both about technical level (good musicians) and excellent work in the studio. Not weirdo, dirty and chaotic punk-82, but very true quality sound. Sometimes even seem we can to listen to some heavy metal  guitar riffs, but the the rest is as always typical punk hardcore with its roots in 1982 sound and influences. Not sure if is its best album but no doubt this is one of the best. The band has decided to take complete control on its activity and has just founded its own label under the name of "SOS Chaos Records", responsible also about booking, tours, live concerts, etc. Good work.

It is hard to say clearly how many labels have released fourth album is Total Chaos, but as "discogs" seem to have been 4:. Dream Catcher rec, rec SOS, Dirty Punk rec.. Rejects and rec. Gone are the problems and misunderstandings with the traditional label of the band "Epitaph Records" and here began a new stage (in my opinion), less fortunate than the last. There are 2 covers of The Exploited: "Sex & Violence" and "Fucking USA" (Total Chaos call this song as: "Casualties in Hollywood"). Musically it "Punk Invasion" still sounds like no punk / hardcore influences of any kind. But maybe it's less fresh than other discs. Less friendly. Listen to him and let everyone judge.

BIOGRAPHY : Riverside, CA punks Total Chaos formed in 1988, comprising singer Rob Chaos, guitarist Gary Doom, bassist Joe E. Bastard and drummer Gearbox at the time of their self-released debut LP We Are the Punx, We Are the Future. Doom exited the group soon after, and upon installing new guitarist Ronald McMurder, Total Chaos signed to Epitaph, issuing Pledge of Defiance in 1994. Second guitarist Germ joined the fold for 1995's Patriotic Shock, but by the time of the follow-up Anthems from the Alleyway only Rob Chaos and Joe E. Bastard remained from the previous album, with the line-up now including guitarist Shawn Smash and drummer Suzy Homewrecker. By early 1998 rumors were circulating that Rob Chaos had died; although the stories were untrue, it was confirmed that Total Chaos had disbanded, although by September the group reformed minus Homewrecker, who was (according to the official Total Chaos website) stealing the band's T-shirts, selling them at a discounted price and keeping all of the profits herself. With new drummer Traci Michaels, the quartet signed to Cleopatra and issued In God We Kill in mid-1999; Electric Lady followed later that same year. Punk Invasion appeared in spring 2001. ~ Jason Ankeny

Label:  Epitaph
Format:  CD , LP
Tracks:  28
Time:  50 min.
Genre:  rock
Style:           Punk  Rock

To not bore followers Total Chaos, in 1996 the band decided to change musical direction again and this time does not crust or hardcore. But focuses its sound to the pure, easy and simple rock 1976. This is uncomplicated, pure brittish punk-rock 1976. Little to say about the album: good songs, good sound and good music that appeals to punks, skinheads, mods and more diverse people.

Second Long working Californians and again under the tutelage of the almighty "Epitaph Records". We are in 1995 and this label, "Epitaph Rec" this we charging millions of dollars with the unexpected success of two bands: Green Day and The Offspring. This helps pave the way for dozens of bands of melodic hardcore and melodic punk-rock. But it also helps 2 bands that do not fit exactly in this musical style: Rancid and Total Chaos. In this second album Total Chaos leave the punk / crust to sound more punk / hardcore aka style 1982 with bands such as The Exploited, GBH, Chaos UK, Disorder, etc.. And frankly the disc is highly recommended if you like the style of 1982. Some tracks are fast and a few ones are slow with heavy percusions (drums) which remind the song "Troops of tomorrow" and such. The title and the cover of the disc, are 2 symbols against nationalism and religion.

Country:  US
City:  Los Angeles
Label:  Epitaph
Format:  CD , LP
Tracks: 13
Time: 36 min.
Genre:  rock
Style:         Crust Punk

After some unofficial recordings and demos, the band decides to write a contract with the label "Epitaph records" and record their first album debut. This is their most aggressive and fast disk, closest to the crust, d-beat and generally extreme hardcore. But despite its speed and noise, it is a very well played, well recorded and production work in the studio, excellent work. "Pledge of defiance" and "Fuck the system" are the best tracks of this album.
