Formed in 1980 by Malcolm McLaren direction after the terrible demise of The Sex Pistols, BOW WOW WOW were originally the first lineup of British pub rock group Adam And The Ants. On Malcom McLaren's advice, the band ditched Adam. They found their new lead singer in 14-year-old Myint Myint Aye (Burmese for "High High Cool"), who was later renamed Annabella Lwin. McLaren discovered fourteen year old Lwin while she was working at a dry cleaners, and the group’s sound was a mix of her “girlish squeal”, Balinese chants, surf instrumentals, new wave melodies, and Barbarossa’s Burundi ritual music-influenced tom tom beats, though later moving towards heavy metal riffs. The group released 3 full-length albums before Lwin quit to pursue a solo career, or was kicked out, in 1983. I don't listen to the rest of the recordings, but I must to admmit this debut cassette is quite sympathetic, fun and optimistic. Not punk at all, but not bad neither. Good melodies with some subliminal anti-racist messages and sweet female voice, I like this girl, Annabella Lwin. In 2012 BOW WOW WOW reformed and made some gigs over the world.

Bow Wow Wow are an English 1980s new wave band, created by Malcolm McLaren to promote his and then girlfriend/business partner Vivienne Westwood's New Romantic fashion lines. The group's music has been described as having an "African-derived drum sound". In 1980, McLaren persuaded guitarist Matthew Ashman, drummer David Barbarossa (also known as Dave Barbe) and bassist Leigh Gorman all then members of Adam and the Ants, to leave the founder of the band, Adam Ant, and form a new group. After a six-month audition process for a lead singer, the band enlisted Annabella Lwin. Musician David Fishel, an acquaintance of McLaren's, discovered 14-year-old Lwin while she was working a Saturday job at her local dry cleaners. The group's sound was a mix of her "girlish squeal," chants, surf instrumentals, pop melodies and Barbarossa's Burundi ritual music-influenced tom-tom drum beats. Some kind of mix with new wave sound and tribal and afro rhythms.
