NUCLEAR ASSAULT was a thrash metal band that was formed in 1984 by Dan Lilker as he had left his former band Anthrax. The band recorded a number of well received albums before breaking up for the first time in 1995. They reunited once again in 2002. Their most successful records are "Survive" (1988) and "Handle with care" (1989), which peaked at #145 and #126 on the Billboard 200 chart respectively. Despite its musical style is no doubt NUCLEAR ASSAULT had and has some similarities to hardcore, punk and crossover, both, musically and about lyrical themes. Despite they are not CRASS nor Fugazi, they have always had a bit of hardcore-punk attitude and this fact is present in its lyrics, artwork, personal behavoir, etc. The band has recorded seven studio albums, three live albums and several ep's. It´s curious to see one of their live albums was recorded in "CBGB" (New York) the
