"The Terror State" is the fourth full length album by Pittsburgh punk natives Anti-Flag; released October 21, 2003 on the label "Fat Wreck Chords" (own of Mike from NO FX).
The album's artwork was regarded as somewhat controversial (Picturing
lead vocalist Justin Sane's niece, Rachel, amongst rubble holding an
automatic handgun), and the band was forced to create an alternate
version (which was simply all black with the Terror State logo
centered). for sale in some larger chain stores, such as Wal-Mart. Produced by Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, "The Terror State" was hailed as Anti-Flag's most polished album to date. The album made #1 on KTUH's charts on the week of January 19, 2004. As of April 3, 2008, the album has sold 106.000 copies. Anti-Flag is a punk band formed in 1988 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and known for its outspoken left-wing
political views, focusing on anti-war activism, imperialism, class
struggle, human rights, and other socio-political sentiments. Members
include singer/guitarist Justin Sane,
singer/bassist Chris Barker, guitarist Chris Head, and drummer Pat
Thetic; Chris Barker (“Chris #2”) replaced original bassist Andy Flag in
1999. The band is known also for their advocacy of progressive
political action groups such as Greenpeace and Amnesty International.
Most recently, the band has focused criticism on the
United States bailouts, which were executed to give massive portions of
capital directly towards salvaging the national banks.

"Die for the Government" is the debut album by the U.S. punk band Anti-Flag, released in 1996. After this album, bassist Andy Flag played with Anti-Flag on their EP North America Sucks, but left soon after as they couldn't get along as a band. The CD booklet bids farewell to Andy Flag. The front cover gives the title "Die for the Government", but side of
the CD reads "Die for Your Government". Also the "title track" is
actually named You've Got to Die for the Government.
