According to the band: "This recording is guaranteed 100% racist, sexist, homophobic, straight edge, carniverous, New York hardcore free! oh dear, that might make the sales drop". Sore Throat were a short lived yet important band in the later 80's UK grindcore, noisecore, hardcore and punk movement which featured members of Doom, Deviated Instinct and other crust punk bands. Sore Throat formed in 1987 in Yorkshire, UK as a crust punk, hardcore punk, and grindcore act with the initial line up as Rich Militia (vocals), Brian "Bri" Talbot (guitar), John Doom (bass) and Nick Royles (drums). They are known as one of the first bands to give rise to and play in the style of "noisecore". Though now largely forgotten, they were a key part of the hardcore/grindcore movement of the mid-late 1980s in the United Kingdom and were commonly known for their "we don't fucking care" attitude, harsh humour and mockery in their music about other contemporary bands and society. They were sometimes seen as a parody band and a drunk political punk band. They were also one of the first bands to heavily incorporate samples in their music.

Genre:  reggae

The Selecter are a 2 Tone ska revival band from Coventry, England, formed in mid-1979. The Selecter featured a racially diverse line-up. Their lyrics featured themes connected to politics. Reinforcing the songs of Neol Davies were the voice and rude girl style of Pauline Black and the rhythms of Desmond Brown on the Hammond organ. The band's name is based on the term "selector", which is a Jamaican word for disc jockey. The band were one of the most successful ska bands of the 2 Tone era, notching up several top forty singles in the British charts. The Selecter reformed in 1991 and vocalist Black continued to perform and release music under The Selecter name until 2006. Some confusion emerged over two competing line-ups for the Selecter in 2011, between that featuring Davies and that featuring Black and Arthur 'Gaps' Hendrickson, In June 2011 Black applied for, and won, The Selecter trademark and the right to use the name herself.

SIEGE

"drop dead"
Year:  1984
Country:  US
City:  Boston
Label:  Relapse
Format:  CD
Tracks: 12
Time:  20 min.
Genre:  rock
Style:         Hardcore

Drop Dead is an album originally released in 1984 by Weymouth hardcore band Siege. It is the only album the band ever released. The original "album" was a self-released demo cassette with six songs recorded at Radiobeat studios in Boston and produced by Lou Giordano. There were also three songs recorded for Pushead's Cleanse the Bacteria hardcore compilation. When the album was finally given a proper (i.e., non-bootleg) release on CD by Relapse Records in 1994, the three Cleanse the Bacteria tracks were added to the original six demo tape songs. Deep Six Records then re-released the album on 12" vinyl in 2004, with the identical tracklist to the Relapse reissue, being the original six songs with the same three compilation tracks added. These nine tracks were the only things recorded by Siege until they reformed in 1991 with Seth Putnam of Anal Cunt on lead vocals and recorded a demo tape from which one song, "Cameras", was released in 2004 on the 13 Bands Who Think You're Gay compilation album. A total of four songs were recorded in this session, the final three of which did not appear until their release in 2014 as the Lost Session '91 7" on Patac Records. However, two separate additional reissues of the original Siege material done on lp in 2006 and 2009 by the Deep Six record label contained an additional three tracks, "Two-Faced," "Trained To Kill," and "Questions Behind The Wall". These tracks are unreleased tracks from the original Drop Dead sessions from 1984. In 2015, Deep Six reissued the album on LP and CD, including all three bonus tracks.
