well finally! With situation Normal Still Fucked Up, the Prague-charged Punx Just would shoot their long-awaited debut album. There are ten merciless metal punk songs, technically demanding and with a lot of steam under the cauldron. Just War was founded in 2014, since then released a single The Last Goodbye and played several concerts across the continent. After a few line-up changes and even a temporary breakup, the band's first long player now appears. The disc was recorded in Prague in the Stereo Mystereo Studio at the end of 2018. With two songs they got vocal reinforcement from front man Bilos of the Czech metal band Malignant Tumor.

As I said before, Just Wär play crust punk somewhere between old school hardcore, Motörhead and classic heavy metal. The songs on the album are musically sophisticated and guitarist Traktor shows what he can do! In fact, he plays without a pick. When I asked him why he was playing without a pick after a concert, he said that he simply didn't have one when he started playing the guitar. It was just like that and now he doesn't need it anymore - a master of plucking and a master of overtones, not bad.

In terms of sound, the metal edge cannot be missed. The songs press and are tightly recorded. The distorted bass roars, the drums press and the guitar shreds like a chainsaw and is still in the foreground with its varied gadgets. You can argue about the lyrics, I find them temporarily flat and simple. That is certainly a matter of taste, but compared to the instrumental claim, the vocals lag behind textually and purely vocally. Because, for me at least, not much gets stuck in the ear. The catchy tune is missing.

All in all, I would call the album a success, despite the cut in vocals. So if you like metal punk and want to blow your ear canals again, this is the place for you (*Review by Von Felix ).
