"Spunk" is a demo album by the punk rock band The Sex
Pistols. It was originally released in the United Kingdom during
September or October 1976. The album comprises studio demos and talking
recorded with Dave Goodman during 1976, while original
bass player Glen Matlock was still a member of the band. Most of the
songs would later be re-recorded and officially released on the group's
album "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols". It's easy to
take the Sex Pistols for granted. Despite rarely actually
digging their records out of my stacks, the band's contribution to punk
rock should be held without contention (although that's hardly the
case). In either case, the band needs no introduction.

“Never Mind the Bollocks Here’s the Sex Pistols” is the first and only studio album recorded by the Sex Pistols,
a highly influential and controversial british punk band. Fans and
critics alike generally regard the album as an extremely important
record in the history of rock music, citing the lasting influence it has
had on subsequent punk musicians and other musical genres that were
influenced by such punk rock artists. The album was recorded late 1976 and officially released on 4th
November 1977 on the Virgin Records label, amid controversy arising
from the use of the obscenity (in British English) “bollocks” in its
title.
Older versions of most of the album’s songs
also appeared on a bootleg album called "Spunk", which consists of demo
recordings the band had made during 1976 and January 1977, and which was
released shortly before Never Mind the Bollocks. To record this album
Steve Jones played until three different guitars highly distorted, uneven with the goal to get
a chaotic and confused atmosphere. Also voices, chorus, bass and drums
suffered different modulations, deffects and distortions with the same goal. Chris
Thomas was the producer of this album in the "Virgin" studios. The
album has been re-released a lot of times in all sorts of format: LP,
CD, cassette, picture disk, etc.

"The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle" (1979) is a documentary film
directed by Julien Temple and produced by Don Boyd and Jeremy Thomas
about the punk rock band Sex Pistols and
also a soundtrack. Guitarist Steve Jones
plays a shady private detective who - through a series of set piece acts
- uncovers the truth about the band. Drummer Paul Cook and bass
guitarist Sid Vicious play smaller roles, and the band's manager,
Malcolm McLaren, is featured as "The Embezzler", the man who manipulates
the Sex Pistols. Fugitive train robber Ronnie Biggs, performer Edward
Tudor-Pole, sex film star Mary Millington, and actresses Irene Handl and
Liz Fraser also make appearances. The movie tells a stylised
fictional account of the formation, rise
and subsequent breakup of the band, from the point of view of their
then-manager Malcolm McLaren. In the film, McLaren claims to create the
Sex Pistols and manipulate them to the top of the music business, using
them as puppets to both further his own agenda (in his own words -
"chaos"), and to claim the financial rewards from the various record
labels the band were signed to during their brief history - EMI,
A&M, Virgin, and Warner Bros. Strictly musical here we can to find

compilation of extracts from real interviews, TV adverts and some spoken

This recording was made illegal and non-official way in 1977, in the city of Trondheim (Norway) during a concert of the band. In 1992 someone found it and "Virgin Records" decided to remastered and re-digitized the sound until a fairly optimal sound quality. Then it made on digipack format and was sold to the market next to the compilation "Kiss this". However, in 2012 an unknown Russian label called "Piggymot Records" again decided to put the release for sale, this time in cassette format with a very limited edition.

the also spanish label "Nevada Records". The release was re-made in 2014
but is only avaible on LP format. The quality, technical level and

The Bollock Brothers are a British Punk act formed in 1979 by the London
promoter, DJ and manager Jock McDonald and are latterly best known for
their English language cover of Serge Gainsbourg's song "Harley David
(Son of a Bitch)" (originally in French) and Alex Harvey's "Faith
Healer". As well as being renowned for their self penned creations such
as "Horror Movies", "The Bunker", "The Legend Of The Snake" and "The
Slow Removal of The Left Ear of Vincent van Gogh" which featured Martin
Glover of the band Killing Joke, they are known for their release of
cover versions by artists as diverse as Led Zeppelin, The Sensational
Alex Harvey Band, Steppenwolf, David Bowie and Vangelis among others.
Always on the lookout for clever publicity, their 1983 electro version
of the Sex Pistols' album Never Mind The Bollocks received critical
acclaim and featured Michael Fagan, the man who famously entered the
Queen's bedchamber at Buckingham Palace. Jimmy Lydon, brother of Johnny
Rotten was a featured vocalist for a short while in the early 1980s. In
1994, Croydon-based DJ Andy Hubbard aka "Alby" remixed Faith Healer at
the Alaska Studios in Waterloo, London. The record although widely
acclaimed on the club scene unfortunately was never released and the
original DAT copy was held by Jock McDonald. Andy Hubbard also replaced
the original keyboard player for a gig later that year in Wuppertal,
Germany. Having released nine studio albums as well as many other EPs,
singles, live releases and compilations the band continues to be a
popular live draw throughout Europe although primarily in Belgium,
Germany and France.

A
very good collection which served as a soundtrack for the film "Sid
& Nancy". The musical styles are different but there are artists
with very prestige such as: Joe Strummer, Circle Jerks, John Cale, The
Pogues, Pray for Rain, Steve Jones and 2 tracks sung by Gary Oldman hymself, who
made it very well frankely. This is an album with nothing to do with
the Sex Pistols (strictly musical) but is quite curious and music has high
quality. Good songs.
