In foutraque jazz and punk disc (or the reverse) the bass singer in full the unique album of the Sex Pistols in the light of a situationist theory. She plays jazz "deconstructed" as we would say in a cooking show, you have recognized the very breakzit Anarchy in the U.K. interpreted here by Sarah Murcia. The bassist, arranger and singer who gets the opportunity to fully album Never Mind the Bollocks. "Regardless of the balls" does it translate crudely, the only studio album from British band released in 1977, often repeated but rarely full, and in the mess regarding the songs but also in spirit. Over the year of recovery, it is a work of reflection, dismantling this disk since as explained Sarah Murcia "Never Mind the Bollocks is a third of music, and two thirds of concepts, they political or aesthetic". Jazz punk interpretation (or vice versa) inspired by the reading of the American Greil Marcus's Lipstick Traces and a secret history of the twentieth century (Editions Allia, 1998) famous book approached Johnny Rotten of the Situationists, or Saint Just the Paris Commune as if Dada Dada had existed before, it was pepper volatile who sneeze history in Europe. Sarah Murcia, head of woman with the SC group (composed only of men: a saxophone Olivier Py (no relation to the director of the Avignon Festival, which he sometimes turns into Miss Knife) here are Gilles Coronado ( guitar) Franck Vaillant (drums), plus two guests: a pianist (Benoît Delbecq) and choreographer and singer Mark Tompkins echoing entirely fair Lydon. In fact this release exist only in DVD format which include also a little interview with John Lydon and has in total 88 minutes. But I got to extract the audio in 17 tracks with a quite good quality sound. Original Pistols – John Lydon (aka Rotten), Steve Jones (guitar), Glen Matlock (bass) and Paul Cook (drums) – are back for more in 2008, and this time it really will be a Holiday in the Sun. Sex Pistols headline the Isle of Wight Festival on Saturday, June 14th and embark on a series of headlining festival dates throughout Europe. They also travel to Japan for the first time in 12 years, and play their first ever live dates in Russia. August also sees them take the high road to Scotland to headline the Live at Loch Lomond Festival on Sunday, August 3rd. They round off their scheduled live dates with an appearance at The Electric Picnic Festival on Sunday, August 31st. Their first concert on Irish soil. As a special prelude to their Isle of Wight appearance the band announced they would play Birmingham Academy on Wednesday, June 11th. A one-off American club date has also been arranged at Las Vegas, The Joint on Saturday, June 7th. The Sex Pistols and Vegas! Have fun…

The swindle continues and here we have another SEX  PISTOLS tribute released in 2011 by the australian label “Rachelle Productions” with only four suspect bands called: “UK LEFT WING ANARCHY”, “THE BAMBI KILLERS”, “SEVENTEEN AND NO FUN” and “RECORD LABEL ASSASINS”. These four obviously false bands were just a group of professional musicians covering the SEX  PISTOLS hits, hidden behind these strange names. The album was made only on mp3 format and is still avaible but only in Amazon.

This is a live crowd recording from the Combine Harvester Tour of 2008. The gig was recorded at the Tokyo Marine Stadium, Japan on the 9 August 2008. This recording was part of the Summer Sonic Festival 2008. The recording is not complete as half of Pretty Vacant and all of Seventeen and No feelings and the 1st half of New York are missing. This comes with good artwork. A real shame the recording is not complete as it may not have been recorded elsewhere. This is the same recording as No 760 but has different artwork.

Awesome tribute compilation with 24 bands (one song per band) and more than an hour of real and good covers of those masters of swindle. Almost all bands sing in spanish except one portuguese and another italian. The initiative was reality by an argentinian label record called "Mala Difusion" still active in Buenos Aires. The quality sound is simply perfect and it doesn´t seem a south american lo-fi underground compilation, but a totally professional album. Enjoy it.

Ahh, proto-punk, how fine it is. While the influence of Can on the Sex Pistols is debatable, I don't really doubt that they were listening to it (plus "Halleluwah" is just a great fucking song). The rest here is a great slab of all the ragged garage stuff that would crystallize into the punk movement in the late seventies. The Modern Lovers, Paul Revere & The Raiders, Count Five, Heartbreakers, MC5, etc, etc, y'know, pretty much everyone you'd expect, but it makes for fine listening.   Rolling out of the box with The Modern Lovers' "Roadrunner", the fifteen song The Roots of the Sex Pistols compilation disc from MOJO magazine gets it right with the inclusion of "Psychotic Reaction" by the Count Five", the low slung "Born to Lose" from Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers, The Runaways' ch-ch-ch-ch "Cherry Bomb", the mean Motor City mayhem of the MC5's "Shakin' Street", Mott the Hoople's raucous "Crash Street Kidds", "Chatterbox" from the cross-dressin' New York Dolls, and Paul Revere & The Raiders quick cruise through the holdin'-my-ground "I'm Not Your Steppin' Stone". The January of 2005 release packs on the Pistols' "Seventeen", just to give the initiated a two-minute shot of what Johnny Rotten's gang was all about.

Style:     Bhangra     Techno     Ambient

OPIUM JUKEBOX : is the surname under which Martin Clive Atkins make and produce music. Martin Clive Atkins was born 3 August 1959 in Coventry, UK. Drummer for "Public Image Limited" for the albums "Metal Box", "Flowers of Romance", "Commercial Zone" and "This is What You Want". He is also founder of "Pigface" (industrial band) and the label "Invisible Records".

Once upon a time, not so very long ago, there was a small music label called Invisible Records. They hosted all sorts of avant garde industrial acts, like Pigface and Meg Lee Chin and Sheep on Drugs. The music was difficult listening—the very antithesis to adult contemporary music—relying on backbeats and way too many mind-altering chemicals. Then something funny happened. The label's focus slowly drifted away from industrial into a weird sort of fuzzy space, motivated perhaps, by an entirely different variety of mind-altering chemicals. Martin Atkins, Julian Beeston, Bobdog Catlin, and Rahul Sharma got together and formed a bizarre band called Opium Jukebox. They wanted to do some mystical-sounding Indian music, but at the same time, didn't want to stray too far from their alternative music roots. What to do, what to do? They covered the Sex Pistols, of course! And thus Never Mind the Bhangra Here's the Opium Jukebox was born. Sid Vicious would almost certainly have barfed all over this CD. It is not true to the original "destroy everything" intent of the band. I think that's why it's so amusing. Never Mind the Bhangra comes across as a muzakked Ravi Shankar-sounding thing, with occasional elements of that Invisible sound I was talking about earlier. Only the barest bones of the original songs' melodies are retained. Everything else has been chewed up by a sitar and spit out onto a glistening, shiny CD. I think Opium Jukebox may have done for punk what Pat Boone did for heavy metal. Take that as you will. RECOMMENDED TRACKS: "Anarchy In The UK #2", "God Save The Queen", "New York".

DESCRIPTION : A documentary about the punk band The Sex Pistols. The film tries to lit some of the backgrounds of their way through the punk era while telling the story of the band from zero back to zero. Features lots of interviews and comments of folks who were involved.   Watching the first ten minutes of F & T F, I can honestly say that I experienced the only true religious experience I've ever felt in the matrix of a movie theatre. I had an out-of-body experience, so completely was a swept into the world of Julian Temple's interpretation of what The Sex Pistols were, how they came to be, when they came to be, and the madness of Great Britain that allowed them to come to be. It was probably the only time cheek irony ever really worked, that is, playing majestically classical music during the opening credits. And then that marvelous segue from the lower-income housing courtyard to Johnny's blistering presence. As ferociously brilliant a film as the band itself. But the film is more than just about the band; it's also about the fear of the establishment when its status quo is threatened, the media, and British society. The hypocrisy of the British government is ever evident when we see a public official denouncing the band as a disgusting bunch sub-human runts that are "the antithesis to human-kind" and then later see this and play a benefit concert and host an x-mas party for the children of striking firefighters. THAT WAS THE POINT OF THE PISTOLS in some respects. Their anger was grounded in the mistreatment of working people. Maybe it was a publicity booster, but I've seldom seen any American bands get their ands dirty and link up with Labor issues. The film is also about Language. It seems that using racial epithets are accepted in some British circles, but airing some traditional four letter words on public television, is still taboo. Anti-drug? Certainly. Johhny Rotten comes right out and extols the evils of Heroin and we see what it can do to a human being in Sid and his ultimate demise. SEE THIS MOVIE!

Looks like a lie but 30 years after the creation of the band, the Sex Pistols are playing live in 2007 and what is most shocking of all: better do a punk-rock concert 60 years old when ... had 20 years of age. Today we have the irrefutable evidence of the terrible to the band concerts during 1976, 1977 and 1978. With a terrible sound and making mistakes every second. Especially during the stage with Sid Vicious on bass. This concert in Glasgow has a very good sound quality and perhaps the only thing is the old añoremos angry voice of Johnny Rotten. Today is the voice of John Lydon (Public Image Limited) dominates: more melodic, ironic and funny.

Very quality audience recording. Billed as 'The Pistols at the Palace' and coinciding with the Queen's 50th anniversary of succession to the throne, this show was a faint echo of the legendary 'Silver Jubilee Boat Trip' on the Thames in 1977. It was also alleged to be the Pistols' swansong, which is perhaps why they played everything the original line-up had recorded (note the rare, possibly unique outings for 'My Way' and The Creation's 'Through my Eyes'). Within a couple of months, though the lure of the Dollar had tempted them onto the US late-summer festival circuit, and they've been back on tour every few years since. ( *Note : this review ).

Here’s the Sex Pistols – the original Sex Pistols, with Glen Matlock on bass – in an intense, non-stop onslaught of pure punk rock in a 1996 reunion tour, shot at the fabled Nippon Budokan in Tokyo. John Lydon returns as Johnny Rotten, with two-tone hair, red shorts, and no letup from the famous raw, shouted vocals with which he helped invent UK punk in the 1970’s. Steve Jones, Glen Matlock and Paul Cook blast out the music in the Pistols’ trademark fast, tight, loud style, reviving a host of Sex Pistols favourites. While the great punk-rock moment that the Sex Pistols created and owned in the mid-1970’s was brief and fleeting, this concert shows that punk rock – and the band that made it famous – will never die. A searing evening of wild music.

NEUROTIC OUTSIDERS were a hard rock supergroup formed in 1995 by Steve Jones of The Sex Pistols on guitar/vocals, John Taylor of Duran Duran on bass/vocals, Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses on guitar/vocals, and McKagan’s GNR bandmate Matt Sorum (also formerly of The Cult) on drums. “The Neurotic Boy Outsiders”, as they were initially known, began life as a group of friends jamming at the famous Viper Room simply for the fun of it, before recording ”Neurotic Outsiders” for Madonna’s "Maverick Records" label in 1996. They briefly toured across Europe and North America, before disbanding later in the year. They’ve reunited for a few shows in 1999 at the Viper Room, but no plans of continuing the band have been made. All members, aside from Taylor, have made appearances with Camp Freddy in recent years. This wasn't the first time Guns N' Roses members and Steve Jones had collaborated. Axl Rose from Guns N' Roses, and Ian Astbury, Billy Duffy, and Mickey Curry, all from The Cult, which Matt Sorum played with both before and after Guns N' Roses, all made guest appearances on the Steve Jones solo album Fire and Gasoline.

The Bollock Brothers  are a British new wave act formed in 1979 by the London promoter, DJ and manager Jock McDonald and are latterly best known for their English language cover of Serge Gainsbourg's song "Harley David (Son of a Bitch)" (originally in French) and Alex Harvey's "Faith Healer".  As well as being renowned for their self penned creations such as "Horror Movies", "The Bunker", "The Legend Of The Snake" and "The Slow Removal of The Left Ear of Vincent van Gogh" which featured Martin Glover of the band Killing Joke, they are known for their release of cover versions by artists as diverse as Led Zeppelin, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Steppenwolf, David Bowie and Vangelis among others.  Always on the lookout for clever publicity, their 1983 electro version of the Sex Pistols' album Never Mind The Bollocks received critical acclaim and featured Michael Fagan, the man who famously entered the Queen's bedchamber at Buckingham Palace. Jimmy Lydon, brother of Johnny Rotten was a featured vocalist for a short while in the early 1980s.

RICH KIDS were a short-lived new wave band from London, founded in 1977 by Glen Matlock following his departure from Sex Pistols. The band also included future Ultravox member Midge Ure, and Rusty Egan, who later went to found Visage. The group disbanded in 1979 after one album and 3 ep´s and several of their live performances were featured in the 1980 film D.O.A.. In 2003 the major label EMI decided to make this big compilation with all RICH KIDS studio tracks under the simple title "The Best of". The cover you can see here is from the first single appeared on 1 January 1978 and I could buy it here in Barcelona in 1995 in a "Vinyl Fair". So, the real cover of this compilation is just here below. On 7 January 2010, the band played a one-off reunion concert at The O2 Academy Islington, London in aid of Steve New.

"Spunk" is a bootleg demo album by the English punk rock band The Sex Pistols. It was originally released in the United Kingdom during September or October 1976. The album comprises studio demos and talking recorded with Dave Goodman during 1976, while original bass player Glen Matlock was still a member of the band. Most of the songs would later be re-recorded and officially released on the group's album "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols". It's easy to take the Sex Pistols for granted. Despite rarely actually digging their records out of my stacks, the band's contribution to punk rock should be held without contention (although that's hardly the case). In either case, the band needs no introduction.

THE EX PISTOLS were a scam act introduced in 1979 by one-time Sex Pistols producer Dave Goodman after his services were substituted for those of professional producers. The Ex Pistols existed as a sound-alike band meant to mislead fans due to the similar music, name, and artwork, that led people to believe their songs were actually new or lost Sex Pistols recordings. The Sex Pistols would successfully sue Dave Goodman and he was no longer allowed to use the name.

The "100 Club Punk Special" (sometimes referred to as the 100 Club Punk Festival) was a two-day event held at the 100 Club - a typically jazz-oriented venue in Oxford Street, London, England - on 20 and 21 September 1976. The gig showcased eight punk rock bands, most of which were unsigned. The bands in attendance were each associated with the evolving punk rock music scene and movement of the United Kingdom. The concert marked a watershed for the movement, as punk began to move from the underground and emerge into the mainstream music scene. In early September 1976, concert promoter Ron Watts approached Malcolm McLaren, manager of the Sex Pistols, the leaders of the new British punk rock scene, and proposed that they headline the event. After that, they presented the idea to The Damned and The Clash, both of which quickly agreed to participate. Siouxsie Sioux directly approached Watts and requested to join the line-up as well. McLaren then volunteered the Stinky Toys and a handful of other bands from Manchester.

“Never Mind the Bollocks Here’s the Sex Pistols” is the first and only studio album recorded by the Sex Pistols, a highly influential and controversial british punk band. Fans and critics alike generally regard the album as an extremely important record in the history of rock music, citing the lasting influence it has had on subsequent punk musicians and other musical genres that were influenced by such punk rock artists. The album was recorded late 1976 and officially released on 4th November 1977 on the Virgin Records label, amid controversy arising from the use of the obscenity (in British English) “bollocks” in its title. Older versions of most of the album’s songs also appeared on a bootleg album called "Spunk", which consists of demo recordings the band had made during 1976 and January 1977, and which was released shortly before Never Mind the Bollocks. To record this album Steve Jones played until three different guitars highly distorted to get a chaotic and confused ambient. Also voices, chorus, bass and drums suffered different modulations and distortions with the same goal. Chris Thomas was the producer of this album in the "Virgin" studios. The album has been re-released a lot of times in all sorts of format: LP, CD, cassette, picture disk, etc.

"The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle" (1979) is a documentary film directed by Julien Temple and produced by Don Boyd and Jeremy Thomas about the British punk rock band Sex Pistols. Guitarist Steve Jones plays a shady private detective who - through a series of set piece acts - uncovers the truth about the band. Drummer Paul Cook and bass guitarist Sid Vicious play smaller roles, and the band's manager, Malcolm McLaren, is featured as "The Embezzler", the man who manipulates the Sex Pistols. Fugitive train robber Ronnie Biggs, performer Edward Tudor-Pole, sex film star Mary Millington, and actresses Irene Handl and Liz Fraser also make appearances.   The movie tells a stylised fictional account of the formation, rise and subsequent breakup of the band, from the point of view of their then-manager Malcolm McLaren. In the film, McLaren claims to create the Sex Pistols and manipulate them to the top of the music business, using them as puppets to both further his own agenda (in his own words - "chaos"), and to claim the financial rewards from the various record labels the band were signed to during their brief history - EMI, A&M, Virgin, and Warner Bros. Records.

A compilation album of singles by the Sex Pistols, released after their break-up. This LP includes the four songs that were issued as singles from 'Never Mind the Bollocks', with three of their B-sides, as well as the six A-sides issued off 'The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle' and one B-side, 'My Way'. The vinyl has only a couple of the faintest hairlines from the paper inner sleeve. The label shows signs of maybe one of two plays. The sleeve has only some very light creasing to the spine and seams, and some very light scuffing to the corners.
