INTENSE DEGREE was a superfast Mansfield's finest Hardcore band of the late 80's shared stages Countless with the leading lights of the newly spawned UK hardcore and grindcore scene: Heresy, Napalm Death, Doom, Bolt Thrower, etc. all over the UK in the period 86-87, and attracted the attention of famed Radio 1 DJ John Peel, who booked the band into the BBC studios for a well received session, first broadcast in March 1988. Were the band metallic sounding less than their contemporaries, concentrating instead on super-swift pure Hardcore based material and in drummer Frank they boasted one of the fastest in the scene. INTENSE DEGREE were also remarkable for having a female bass player, was unusual for the time, Bolt Thrower aside. The main feature of INTENSE DEGREE is they played ultra-fast hardcore comparable to grindcore, but a clean sound with little distortion, light sound and clear vocals that may remind the singers of bands such as Minor Threat, Gorilla Biscuits or 7 Seconds. This is his their only long album but is simply...  Essential
