Hailing from Victoria's Western Suburbs, the four members of Daysworth Fighting have been jamming together since 2001 under their former name - Potamus. After a long break in 2004 where Bassist - John, and Drummer James fulfilled personal commitments overseas, the band started anew under the name Daysworth Fighting. Spending most of 2005 getting organized and back into playing live shows, the band has further progressed in their style of hardcore punk rock, mixing new melodies and tempos with rough vocals and driving beats, and playing with some of Australia's finest bands along the way. With influences from the likes of Hot Water Music, Small Brown Bike, Strikeforce Diablo and Leatherface; Daysworth combine hardcore and rock to create their own unique sound.

Formed around 2004, Daysworth Fighting were the first band to be signed to Poison City Records, releasing their debut EP "How to Fit In" in 2006, followed by their debut album "Hold Fast" in 2008. While being heavily influenced by the gritty punk sounds of Gainesville, Fl, Daysworth took as much influence from local bands including Mid Youth Crisis, A Death In the Family, Away From Now and Blueline Medic. The band made a home for themselves at the heart of Melbourne Punk rock - The Arthouse and played many gigs at the revered venue. After touring with many Australian and international acts throughout the mid 2000s, Daysworth decided to call time in 2010. Although the band got together occasionally over the following years for a rare show, they never committed to reforming and gigging permanently again. The feeling of having unfinished business pushed the band to reunite in early 2018 and they began writing again as a unit for a 2nd album. The effort culminated in 12 songs recorded by Sam Johnson at Holes and Corners and is set to be released in mid 2019.
