RAMONES were an American punk rock band that formed in the New York City neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens, in 1974. Despite achieving only limited commercial success, the band was a major influence on the punk rock movement in both the United States and, perhaps to a greater extent, the United Kingdom.  All of the band members adopted pseudonyms ending with the surname "Ramone", although none of them were related. They performed 2,263 concerts, touring virtually nonstop for 22 years. In 1996, after a tour with the Lollapalooza music festival, the band played a farewell concert and disbanded. Only a little more than eight years after the breakup, all three of the band's founding members—lead singer (and, at the time of founding, drummer) Joey Ramone, guitarist Johnny Ramone, and bassist Dee Dee Ramone—had died.  Their only record with enough U.S. sales to be certified gold was the compilation album Ramones Mania. However, recognition of the band's importance built over the years, and they are now mentioned in many assessments of all-time great rock music, such as the Rolling Stone list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time and VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. In 2002, the Ramones were ranked the second-greatest band of all time by Spin magazine, trailing only the Beatles. On March 18, 2002, the Ramones—the three founders and drummers Tommy and Marky Ramone—were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2011, the group was awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award

"Too tough to die" is the eighth studio album by the punk rock band the RAMONES. It was released on October 1, 1984, and is the first RAMONES record to feature Richie Ramone on drums. With ex-member Tommy Ramone producing, the recording process was similar to that of the band's 1976 debut album, "Ramones". Likewise, the record's style - both lyrically and compositionally - saw the band returning to their roots. The photograph on the album cover, which features silhouettes of the band members, resulted from a "lucky accident" after photographer George DuBose's camera malfunctioned. Despite there are of course some classic rock´n´roll songs and even rather hard-rock, fortunately the band didn´t make another album like its two precedents "Pleasent dreams" and "Subterranean jungle". Here we can to liten to true anthems such as: "Wart hog", "Mama's boy" or "Danger Zone".

Mondo Bizarro (a misspelled version of "Mondo Bizzarro", meaning "Weird World" in Italian) is the 12th studio album by the American punk band the Ramones, released in 1992. It featured their new bassist, C.J. Ramone, who replaced departed member Dee Dee Ramone. Mondo Bizarro was the group’s first studio album in three years, having left Sire Records for a new contract with Radioactive Records. The album was re-released in the UK by the record label Captain Oi! on August 10, 2004, with a bonus track, "Spider-Man". "Censorshit" was written by Joey Ramone about how rock and rap albums were being censored by the PMRC (Parents Music Resource Center), a group of Washington wives out to put warning labels on records, a practice which has become standard. It has a reference to Ozzy Osbourne and Frank Zappa. Quote: "Ask Ozzy, Zappa, or Me. We'll show you what it's like to be free." The song is addressed to Tipper Gore, wife of former Tennessee Senator and Vice President Al Gore. "Take It as It Comes" is a cover song, originally recorded by The Doors in 1967. "Spider-Man," While having never appeared on the original release but later as a bonus track on the CD version, is a cover of the theme song from the original Spider-Man animated series. It was originally released as an unlisted Bonus track on the original release of ¡Adios Amigos! (later editions omitted it) and then a completely different version was available on the Saturday Morning compilation in 1995. Although Dee Dee Ramone had left the band, he provided the songs "Poison Heart", "Main Man", and "Strength To Endure", as payment for bailing him out of jail due to his long drug addiction. When Johnny Ramone was interviewed about the album for the End of the Century documentary, he states, "I don't like it. I don't like it at all." This contradicts a statement from a 1992 interview in an Argentine newspaper, quote: "Generally I always find two or three songs that I hate. From Mondo Bizarro, I really like almost all the songs and I am very satisfied with the result. Singles from the album were released; "Poison Heart" was released in June 1992, and Strength to Endure was released that October. The original "Mondo Bizarro" was the title of a 1966 film sequel to "Mondo Cane". The album was certified gold in Brazil in 2001.

Shonen Knife (Japanese: 少年ナイフ , literally "Boy Knife") is a Japanese pop punk band formed in Osaka, in 1981. Heavily influenced by 1960s girl groups, pop bands, The Beach Boys, and early punk rock bands, such as the Ramones, the trio crafts stripped-down songs with simplistic lyrics sung both in Japanese and English. Despite their pop-oriented nature, the trio maintains a distinctly underground garage rock sound rooted in edgy instrumentation and D.I.Y. aesthetics, which over the course of their long career has earned them a solid, worldwide cult following and made avid fans out of seminal 1990s indie rock bands such as Sonic Youth, Nirvana and Mudhoney. The band has been credited with making "the international pop underground more international" by "opening it up to bands from Japan". They have also performed as a Ramones tribute band under the name The Osaka Ramones.
