The sound of Broken Bones is the sound of punk at its most primal, the
crashing roar of wild, wild youth taken to limits even the Sex Pistols
never dreamed of. When the band formed in 1983, punk may not have been
dead, but it was certainly dying. Then Broken Bones came along and the
reverberations are still being felt today, in the battle cries of Bad
Religion and the swagger of Rancid, in the white heat of Slayer and the
debauchery of Ministry. Some people have called Broken Bones one of the
biggest Hardcore bands of all time and one of the most vital, various US mega-bands such as Metallica or Slayer have even acknowledged them as one of their influences.

After the albums "Losing Control" (1989) and "Stitched Up" (1991) which sounded perhaps too much heavy metal and quite slow, Broken Bones returned to its roots more hardcore punk or some kind of metalized fast punk aka "punk metal" as its firsts albums of 80's decade. "Time for anger not justice" remind a lot the newest Discharge albums but better in almost all senses: quality sound, composition, lyrics, etc. It's not strange at all this similarity to Discharge, so, the brothers Tony "Bones" Roberts (guitar) and Terry "Tezz" Roberts (bass) founded BROKEN BONES itself after they left Discharge due to certain controversy related to new Discharge musical orientation with the single "Ignorance" (1985) and besides the total commercial failure "Grave new world" (1986), both already without these two brothers, who joined Discharge again in 2001 next to original vocalist Cal.

this Broken Bones album was and still is, very good and highly recommended despite its few succes in 2001, when the label issued the recording. but the true is this is not a bad album at all, but another twelve songs album in the usual music style of the band: fast punk hardcore with some metal influences, besides in the rhythmic guitars, riffs and double kick drums. It exist the original recording and also this one here below (download link) with a new remastering.

Underrated and almost forgot album, which became with the pass of the years in another Broken Bones album. Perhaps not so good as the rest, but not bad at all. Here the band play less fast, less hardcore and also sounds far from classic punk, to sound closer to heavy metal as the 80s way. Maybe only the voice keep more or less the same style, with a bass guitar with "funky" touches, and two guitars completly metalized with complicated riffs. The whole of the album keep big similarities to typical 80s heavy metal and also that funky bass guitar, with songs more elaborated than usual and structures more complicated. Then, in 1991, and during many years has been one of the most underrated Broken Bones album, but the true is it's still interesting, well done and recommended to listen to several times, as minimum. Despite all, Broken Bones disbanded few months later the issue of this album and they reunited five years later, in 1996, to continue active until nowadays.

this is definitely the best and most dazzling BROKEN BONES album no doubt. Their mix of punk, hardcore and metal, gave and still give very good results. this album could be their best one, full of fast, short,
direct and super-dynamic songs, but with a more modern sound (then, in 1987). There was an attempt to market to BROKEN BONES? decided to take this course to collect musical best gains? to most bands at some point try to do something new and different it berates were made from the more conservative sectors. But
I think that if the initial philosophy (the essence of punk) is lost,
it is good to take steps forward, backward or in different directions
looking for new formulas and re-inventing old. The element that I like about this album is that the sound is metallized but the music accelerates. Sounds more hardcore. Here we have attached the video below to hear what podais. this is probably the best Broken Bones album. highly recommended.
