Third long album of these "fat punks" from Portland (Oregon) that were active from 1980 to 1993, and after until 1998, they has been playing intermittently since 1998. Many people believe this album is the best of the band but I personally prefer their "Record collectors are pretentious assholes", anyway all their stuff recorded is highly recommended for those who love 80´s punk hardcore.

Poison Idea is an American punk rock band formed in Portland, Oregon in 1980. The band originally dissolved in 1993, but has been playing intermittently since 1998. Poison Idea was formed in 1980 by vocalist Jerry A. (aka Jerry Lang).
The initial lineup consisted of Jerry A., Chris Tense (guitar), Glen
Estes (bass), and Dean Johnson (drums). Inspired by Black Flag and other early Southern California hardcore acts, they were further influenced by Discharge and Los Angeles's the Germs. Germs singer Darby Crash's
influence on singer Jerry A., vocally, lyrically, and philosophically,
was considerable, and Poison Idea followed the Germs’ extremist punk
ethic. Tense, who previously had played with Jerry in a group called the
Stand, was replaced within a year by Tom "Pig Champion" Roberts
(guitar), formerly of the Imperialist Pigs. Kings of Punk is the title of the third release and first LP by hardcore punk band Poison Idea, released in 1986 through Pushead's Pusmort Records label. It was re-released by Reflex / Wolfpack Records in 2003 on a limited vinyl pressing.

"Record Collectors Are Pretentious Assholes" is hardcore punk band Poison Idea's second EP, released in 1984 through Fatal Erection Records. The back cover of the album featured a picture of Elvis Presley with the words scribed below "The King" as a response to their previous release, the Pick Your King ep which had a picture of Jesus on the front and Elvis on the back. Louisiana Eyehategod vocalist Mike Williams cited this album title as his favourite of any album in the liner notes for the 2006 Century Media reissue of Eyehategod's Take as Needed for Pain (Take as Needed for Pain
apparently came second). The artwork, coupled with the title, is a joke
at the expense of guitarist "Pig Champion", as it is a picture of his
extensive record collection. Hardcore band Cold World released an EP called Pretentious Assholes
in parody of this EP, featuring similar artwork with pictures of
"collectible" versions of Poison Idea records.
