"Sudden Death Records" (Canada) and "Kicking Records" are delighted to announce the long awaited release of DOA's 14th studio album "we come in peace". DOA Canada's punk pioneers, have pulled out all the stops on this new red hot release. Produced by Sean Holowaychuk, Sho Murray and Canada's godfather of punk Joe Keithley, "we come in peace" has all the firepower, politics and humor that are the cornerstones of any great DOA album, but on this disc you'll see that Keithley's songwriting has branched out in a most fruitful and adventurous way. The album takes a determined political stance with songs like: "dirty nazi bastards", "we're bloodied but unbowed", "he's got a gun" and a stirring version of the Toxic Reason "war hero". There is also a heavy slice of reggae dub, with the uber melodic "walk through this world". You'll get your head ripped off with crushing anthems like: "who the hell do you think you are", "bring out your dead" and "boneyard", which features Hugh Dillon (Headstones). There is more great guest vocal appearances that feature Jello Biafra (Dead Kennnedys) on the anthemic "we occupy" and Ben Kowalewicz (Billy Talent) on the frantic "do you wanna". Excellent DOA albums in many years and highly recommended

2010 album from the Punk Rock veterans. Joe "Shithead" Keithley,
Canada's godfather of Punk, has teamed with his cronies Floor Tom Jones
(drums) and Dirty Dan Sedan (bass) for one of D.O.A.'s hardest-hitting
albums yet. Talk - Action = 0 (not to be confused with the
long-out-of-print 1991 live album Talk Minus Action Equals Zero) is the
band's lucky 13th studio album and sees them returning to their roots;
initial reports have drawn comparisons to D.O.A.'s classic first two
albums: "something better change" and "hardcore '81". There's plenty of what
you would expect from the boys - power, politics and humor - with a few
unique twists thrown in just to keep the punks on their toes.

D.O.A.
is a hardcore / punk band from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
They are often referred to as the "founders" of hardcore punk, along
with Black Flag, The Germs, Negative Trend, and Middl e Class. Their
second album Hardcore '81 was thought by many to have been the first actual reference to the second
wave of the American punk sound as hardcore. Singer/guitarist Joey
"Shithead" Keithley is the only founding member to have stayed in the
band throughout its entire history. However, original bassist Randy
Rampage
has been active in the band in recent years and has played on one of
the band's last three albums, although he is not in the current lineup.
D.O.A. has often released music on Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles
Records, and they have released an album with Jello Biafra titled Last Scream of the Missing Neighbors.
D.O.A. has always maintained an uncompromising leftist populist
political stance. The band is known for its outspoken political opinions
and has a history of performing for many causes and benefits. Its
slogan is "Talk minus Action equals Zero." The band has been active on
many issues, including anti-racism, anti-globalization, freedom of
speech, and the environment. Founder Joe Keithley now spends a great
deal of time working with his record company Sudden Death Records which
has branched off into many areas of music.

Despite this album can to remind a performance, live concert or similar event, it's just the opposite, another studio album issued in 2004 in their own label "Sudden Death" and recorded in their city Vancouver, Canada. Then and perhaps even nowadays, the album was quite unotticied. Perhaps is too long (almost fourty minutes), perhaps too much songs (fifhteen plus cover in some issues)... several unknown reasons became this album quite forgotten and underrated. But the true is the recording is still quite good and continue with their typical rock and punk, this time also with few original ska influences.

Underrated, understood and almost forgot album, was and probably is still this excellent work of this canadian
veteran band which mix typical punk hardcore with hard rock influences
and sometimes even little heavy-metal riffs on guitars. About lyrical themes nothing
to do with Metal genre, D.O.A. were and still are a political band with
strong ideas and principles. Not in the militant CRASS style but they
have ideology and their own way to see the world. This is the 14th album
by this mythic canadian rock band formed back in 1978
that plays a blend of elements of bands like Ramones, Dead Boys, Johnny
Thunders plus modern (then, in 1981) hardcore music in its first and last albums, but in the middle of their career they took a lot of influences from hard rock to heavy metal to reggae or ska. In 2017 this album was re-issued on CD and LP format with the together effort of labels "Sudden Death" and "Alternative Tentacles", which decided to add a bonus track entitled "where evil grows".

These permanent punks not only had the discernment to cover "war" in 1982 but the breadth to link it up with the Dils' "class war" and Ranking Trevor's "War in the East." Here they have the candor to join ranks with fellow clod and countryman Randy Bachman on an inspiring and sarcastic "takin' care of business", and perhaps by osmosis, the roar into which the originals sink isn't as dull as usual. The protagonist of "Lumberjack city" takes care of business while drinking anything that comes in a barrel. "Bullet Catcher" is a policewoman who shouldn't have got shot. And fifteen years from now, some enterprising enemy of the star-spangled banner can make a roots medley out of their "51st State" and New Model Army's. The 1987 album, "True (North) Strong and Free" (from a line in the Canadian National Anthem, "Oh, Canada") was one such curious half-step. On the one hand, it clearly continues the commercial aspirations of "let's wreck the party", especially on their fun but kinda slight take on Randy Bachman's "Takin' Care of Business". Brief, an excellent fistful of political and funny heavy metal songs. Enjoy it friends!

This is a big return from DOA, but it's also going to be an adjustment for older fans to get into, and many will likely find it not worth the effort. A mild surprise, they've traded straight-ahead punk for punk-edged, big time rock, the kind they alone are capable of, and they can really spit the juices out of these live. It's real good in places, though your tolerance for AOR radio rock, new wave or even melodic heavy metal, might be limited - though the references for this run closer to Bachman-Turner Overdrive (whom D.O.A. has covered live) and Steppenwolf (likewise, in a side band), or the Guess Who and Grand Funk Railroad. Still, if you’ve come looking for "I'm Right You’re Wrong" or "The Enemy," let alone "001 Losers Club," you won't find it here. This band has moved on a little ways from the alternative scene -- strange, not only for them, but this label - and they're quite great at it, so now it's only a matter of your tolerance/taste. after two singles in 1978 and one in 1979, canadian legends recorded their debut full lenght album entitled "something better change". firstly issued through label "Friends Records" and later in thei own record label "Sudden Death". This fourteen songs album has nothing to do with hard rock, heavy metal or simple classic rock, but just with punk music with political and also ironical lyrics.
