After six years of inactivity and complete silence, "Twenty-Seven" is the fifth studio album by The Adicts and of the best of its whole discography. Now I realize in 1992 nobody wanted to know nothing about this band and its music. But the true is we are in front of a very high quality work about melodic punk rock reffers. It was originally released by "Cleopatra Records" in the USA in 1992. It was re-released after by "Anagram Records" in 1993 and 1997, "Captain Oi! Records" in 2002 and also by "SOS Records" in 2006, each with bonus tracks. This edition here is from "Captain Oi! Records" and contains 20 tracks high recommended. For those who have still doubts, here below there is the whole album in video format (youtube). Enjoy it!

"Fifth Overture" is a studio album by The Adicts.
It was originally released in Germany on SL Records (a division of
Gama) in 1986. It was reissued by "Captain" in 2002 and included the
tracks from the "Bar Room Bop" EP. The original record has become one of the Adicts' most sought after collector's items. The album had a quite controversy into the punk scene from the 80s decade, because the band added to its sound several elements from the synth, pop and electronic music such as: keyboards, electronic drums, violins, etc. In fact, this is not punk at all, but a new wave or some kind of soft and melodic synth-pop album. Nowadays, more than 30 years after, is even funny and curious to listen to The Adicts playing this kind of music. Sound of Music is the second studio album by The Adicts. It was rereleased by Captain Oi! Records in 2002 and by SOS Records in 2006, each with different bonus tracks. In 2002, Taang! Records rereleased the album along with Smart Alex and bonus tracks as The Collection. The same Sound of Music disc with bonus tracks was released separately in 2004. Like the Undertones, Buzzcocks, and the Ramones, the Adicts' albums (and singles) have been filled with hook-laden mod pop punk songs that are hard to ignore. Unlike the Undertones, Buzzcocks, and the Ramones, the Adicts have remained one of the most critically underappreciated punk bands of their generation. Guitarist Pete Dee, drummer Kid Dee, bassist Mel Ellis, and vocalist Monkey
have remained true to their vision and have mixed punk with theatrics
and dynamics far more excitingly than any other band of their ilk. On
this, their second full-length album, the band's musical personality
gelled to the point of punk perfection, displaying a musical maturity
and sharper songwriting skills than on their debut, Songs of Praise.
Although they were, and still remain, a punk band at heart, this album
shows them stretching their musical muscles a bit and experimenting
within the punk framework. "Joker in the Pack" sports a nifty fiddle
fighting for aural space with Pete's sonic guitar attack. "Disco" is a fun punkish take on the Sweet's
"Ballroom Blitz." Acoustic guitars help propel the glorious single
"Chinese Takeaway." One of the only missteps is the re-recording of
their classic B-side, "Steamroller," which is not as exciting as the
rollicking original. The CD reissue on Captain Oi features three bonus
tracks, including covers of "You'll Never Walk Alone" (now one of their
signature live songs) and "I Wanna Be Sedated" (which is pretty darn
cool). A rare sophomore album that bettered the debut and paved the way
for future adventurous releases. Worth the price of admission.

"songs of praise" is the debut studio album by The Adicts.
It was originally released in 1981 on "Dwed Wecords" and was re-released by several labels as "Fall Out Records" or "Cleopatra". In 2008, the album was recorded again by the band and released as the 25th Anniversary Edition. Strictly musical maybe is the best next to "This is your life" and also is one of the albums closer to classic punk rock 1977 style and farest of new wave sound. We
are in front of one of the best The Adicts album but the best. But the
true is this not an official album, but a compilation of fifhteen tracks
recorded from 1978 to 1979, just before its debut album "songs of
prise". All songs were recorded at "Hillside Sound Studios" in London
and they were some kind of demo or something like that. "Fallout
Records" had the good idea in 1984 to colllect all these songs and to
make a "serious" album with remastered sound, professional artwork and
avaible on CD and LP format. We could to say this is a work quite
underrated and almost forgot, but frankly this is a very very good album
and highly recommended
