MANLIFTINGBANNER is a dutch communist hardcore band. They are best known for their merging of the Straight Edge lifestyle and radical politics, particularly communism, anti-racism, gay rights, feminism and the punk DIY ethic. The band has been referred to as the first communist-straight edge band. It was originally named "Profound". Due to the pretentious nature of their name, it was changed to Manliftingbanner after a communist propaganda poster. Strictly musical the band play a kind of pure, simple and direct hardcore, with fast rhythms and short songs. Lyrically the members like hardcore bands like Lärm, Intense Degree or MDC, or older bands with a rock sound oriented like The Clash, Red Skins, Red London, Red Alert or even the folk song-writter Billy Bragg. This "Revolution continues" is not really an album but a compilation of different tracks, ep's, singles, etc. which was made and distributed by the german Straight Edge label "Crucial Response Records".
