Delirium Tremens is an basque rock band. They were formed in Mutriku (Guipuzkoa) in 1986. They remained active until 1991, their moment of maximum popularity. Its lyrics were written in Basque and were very popular in the Basque Country. In fact, the band has come to be defined as "one of the best Basque groups in history", with its "high quality pop-rock" style. They began their journey as a trio in 1987. They got a contract with the Oihuka record company with whom they recorded their first album, an album shared with the Navarrese group Zarrapo: Hemen Denak Berdinak Dira - Here Everyone Are Equal, in which they introduced five songs. The sound, closer to British punk, led them to be included in the so-called Rock Radical Basque, quickly gaining fame on the Basque circuit. It was not until 1989 that his second reference (and first solo album) appeared, Ikusi eta Ikasi (which in Spanish means "Look and Learn"). The album made them embark on a tour throughout the Basque Country, Italy and Wales.2
In 1990 Iñigo Muguruza joined as second guitarist, whom they knew from concerts they had given with Kortatu. They recorded Hiru Aeroplano, their last album with Oihuka and which is considered their best LP. The album was produced by Kaki Arkarazo, who also worked as a sound technician at their concerts.
Iñigo founded the record company Esan Ozenki (along with his colleagues from Negu Gorriak) so his latest works were released with this label. They disbanded in 1991, leaving as testimony to their last concert the album Bilbo zuzenean. 91-5-24 (1991).
In December 2021 they announced the band's reunion after thirty years of inactivity. The return to the stage would begin with a concert scheduled for May 2022, the recording of a new album and the possibility of starting a tour to promote it. In 2022 Delirium Tremens announced they come back to activity with an new studio album and a tour.
